International Caribbean Theater Festival 2020 – Festival Internacional de Teatro del Caribe 2020 (En español)
The 31st International Caribbean Theater Festival was held from September 26 to October 8 2020 In Santa Marta, implementing during these days artistic, pedagogical, cultural, recreational activities, patrimonial development and projection of the creative industries of the Caribbean in a virtual format, impacting through these not only our district and country but part of the world.
For the projection of the staging, the pedagogical, cultural and promotional activities, the organization used digital platforms that allowed the projection of scenic works (companies and artists), pedagogical processes (talks, workshops, forums, conversations). The channels used to disseminate the works were YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, all of this linked through the creation and operation of the page www.festicaribevirtual.com, an exclusive website for this version. The platforms used for the pedagogical processes were Facebook and Zoom.
The 31st Festicaribe was screened through the digital platforms of strategic allies: Teatro Pepe Vives Campo de Cajamag, www.espaciosvirtuales.com virtual page of the Magdalena Cultural Center and a special program was made on the local channel Campo TV, which allowed to cover a large number of audiences, democratizing access to our cultural offer.
1. Children’s and family strip: in this aspect, stage proposals were chosen that, due to their vision, aesthetics and theme, were aimed at young children and families, who exhibited techniques such as family theater, puppets and animation of objects, dance shows, musicals, narration oral, circus and street performance techniques and Cuenteria among others. This programming was carried out every day from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and on weekends from 10:00 a.m.
2. All public strip: in this aspect, scenic proposals were chosen that, due to their vision, aesthetics and theme, were aimed at all audiences, which exposed techniques such as theater, dance shows, musicals, oral narration, circus and street performance techniques and Cuenteria among others. This programming was carried out every day starting at 6:30 p.m.
3. Adult strip: in this aspect, stage proposals were chosen that, due to their vision, aesthetics and themes, were directed to people over 18 years of age, by companies and artists both national and international, who exhibited techniques such as contemporary, classical, street theater , contemporary dance, one-man, circus, Cuenteria, among others. This programming took place every day from 8:00 p.m.
4. Academic range: in this regard, talks, conferences, workshops and master classes are held by national and international invited teachers and directors, promoting the transfer of artistic and cultural knowledge to people linked to the cultural sector and the population in general, for this A call was made for artists, students and the general public to attend each of the virtual pedagogical meetings and actively participate in the processes. The google form was used to collect the information and the Zoom platform to hold the meetings.
The book International Theater Festival of the Caribbean 30 years on stage was published, which seeks to make visible what has been done over thirty versions, likewise highlight and project the different companies, artists, entities and organizations that have accompanied us; The launch of the book took place within the framework of the 2nd International Book Fair of the University of Magdalena, which constituted an important platform for the visibility of the book.
